Build Canada Homes was established to accelerate the delivery of housing across Canada. By bringing together public land, flexible financing, and development expertise, BCH helps reduce project risk, attract investment, and move more projects forward.
 

It works as a coordinated partner across the housing system—supporting proponents, governments, and industry to get homes financed and built.
 

BCH works in partnership with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners, as well as Indigenous housing providers, to support Indigenous-led housing solutions.
 

Through targeted investments—including $1.7 billion to support housing in urban, rural, and northern communities—BCH helps advance projects that reflect community priorities and support long term housing outcomes.

Yes. BCH supports projects of different sizes and types, including those in rural, remote, northern, and Indigenous communities.
 

Smaller projects may be brought together as part of larger portfolios, and BCH works with partners to tailor delivery approaches to local needs.

Proposals are submitted through the BCH Portal. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis.

BCH provides capital funding and development support for housing projects.
 

Proponents are responsible for securing operating funding, including funding for ongoing services, through provincial, territorial, municipal, or other partners.

Affordable or non market housing refers to homes that are not operated for profit and are designed to remain affordable over the long term.
 

These homes are typically owned and managed by non profit organizations, co operatives, Indigenous housing providers, or public housing agencies, with rents linked to income rather than market rates.
