Partnerships and Projects

Build Canada Homes, in partnership with the Province of British Columbia through BC Housing, is supporting the delivery of approximately 1,100 homes. This includes at least 700 supportive and transitional homes expected to begin construction within the next year, along with approximately 400 affordable rental homes delivered using standardized designs and modern construction approaches. The partnership combines federal and provincial investment, including operating funding, to support long-term affordability and housing stability.

Build Canada Homes and the Province of New Brunswick are partnering to deliver up to 1,200 homes, with potential to scale to 1,500, supported by a proposed $300 million joint investment. At least half of all homes will support lower-income households, including a minimum of 160 supportive and transitional homes. The partnership includes both capital and operating funding to support long-term affordability, with a focus on shovel-ready projects and delivery across urban, rural and smaller communities.

Build Canada Homes, in partnership with Housing Northwest Territories, is supporting the delivery of at least 560 homes through a planned combined investment of approximately $480 million. This includes at least 380 social housing units, approximately 130 affordable homes, and 50 transitional or supportive homes. The partnership supports delivery with Indigenous governments and organizations, non-profit partners, and the private sector to address housing needs across northern and remote communities.

Build Canada Homes and the Province of Nova Scotia are partnering to deliver up to 1,430 affordable homes through a joint commitment of up to $300 million. This includes 500 non-profit and community housing units expected to begin construction within 12 months, as well as 930 homes at Shannon Park in Dartmouth, including affordable, supportive, transitional and public housing. The partnership includes operating funding to support long-term affordability and prioritizes modern construction methods to accelerate delivery.

Build Canada Homes is working with the Government of Nunavut and Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated to deliver up to 750 homes, supported by a joint federal and territorial investment. This includes a mix of public, affordable and supportive housing delivered across communities throughout the territory. The partnership incorporates modern construction approaches, including factory-built housing, alongside Inuit-led delivery models to support long-term housing outcomes in northern conditions.

Build Canada Homes, in partnership with the City of Ottawa, is advancing up to 3,000 homes, supported through a joint federal-municipal agreement. This includes more than 1,100 rental homes already approved across eight projects, with over 90% delivering affordable housing and the majority expected to begin construction in the near term. The partnership focuses on advancing shovel-ready projects, aligning funding and land, and accelerating approvals to support faster delivery. Modern methods of construction are being applied to improve timelines and efficiency.

Build Canada Homes and the Government of Quebec are partnering to deliver approximately 865 homes, supported by a $200 million joint investment. This includes more than 390 supportive and transitional homes and approximately 475 affordable homes, delivered through aligned federal and provincial programs. Quebec is supporting operating funding and service delivery to ensure long-term affordability.

Build Canada Homes, in partnership with the City of Toronto, is advancing nearly 1,900 rental homes through nine non-market housing projects on City-owned land. Supported by more than $310 million in federal funding and over $530 million in municipal contributions and incentives, the portfolio will deliver more than 700 affordable and supportive homes, alongside over 1,100 rent-controlled units.

Build Canada Homes is partnering with the Yukon Housing Corporation to deliver up to 500 homes, supported by a joint federal and territorial investment. The partnership uses a portfolio-based approach to accelerate delivery of both public housing and partner-led projects across Yukon communities. It includes capital and operating funding to support long-term affordability, with a focus on shovel-ready projects and housing for low- and moderate-income households. Modern methods of construction are being applied to improve delivery timelines and efficiency.
